Saint Paul Public Schools
eSP Learning Program
The Smart Way to Enhance Learning

The eSP Learning Program, offered through the Saint Paul Public Schools seven high schools, makes courses available online for interested students. Classes in the eSP program, referred to as eCourses, provide flexible learning opportunities for students at all levels. Students enrolled in Saint Paul Public high schools, as well as students outside the district, may participate. And, eSP courses are as rigorous and student-centered as our on-campus curriculum.

At the heart of the eSP Learning Program is flexibility. Students can work at their own pace, in their own place, and on their own time. A face-to-face component between teacher and student is integrated into every course. Students who have taken advantage of eSP courses enjoy the unique opportunity of learning in a new setting and in a new way.

During the first pilot ecourse,
Summer 2004, students were able to:
Work ahead in a subject area
           Access learning from home
           Accommodate their school schedule
           Enrich their learning
Complement home or private school instruction

All ecourses offered through eSP have been approved by the Minnesota Department of Education under the Online Learning Options Act of 2003.
